Cliff Phillips 1919-1975

|
Cliff was a career Navy pilot who was born in Laurel, Montana in October, 1919. He was Hack Phillips' younger brother. In the early 1950's while stationed in Tacoma, WA he learned to play the pipes and passed his enthusiasm on to his brother Hack. Upon retirement he lived in Billings and helped organize the West Mosbys and the Caledonian Band. Father of early Caledonian snare drummer and piper Bob Phillips of Missoula. Cliff tragically passed away of cancer in 1975. |
